EARTH DAY: Get involved now!!

Image
Everyone talks of pollution now-a-days, many organisations too have sprung up for this cause. We depend on these organisations to control pollution but, little do we care about our own contribution towards controlling pollution. Media is playing a powerful role in influencing people to care about our environment, but media itself is only capable to spread awareness, it is the duty of we citizens to do our share.                  Today is Earth Day, a perfect day to contemplate how small changes in our lifestyle could make a considerable impact on our environment. It doesn't takes much effort to make a few ordinary changes in our lifestyle which will be beneficial for both we and our environment.....all we need is the right knowledge and a willingness to make that change.                  Below are few ways which may help you to contribute towards preserving our mother earth: Do think before buying any product and do question yourself- do I really need it? This will certainly h

Splashing around.....

Duh!! Here in Mumbai, the mercury is soaring up day-by-day and we Mumbaikars are feeling the heat. Its only spring and the temperature here is in 30s. Now, a splash in a pool is a sure tried and tested remedy for heat (well, I do think so) and this led me towards a nice excuse to have a day picnic at a water park. Frankly, trying to shoot pictures in a water park is too much troublesome and who would be willing to put their camera in danger? Nevertheless, this was my trip which I undertook to beat the heat do tell me about your. Waiting for your response...

Hips don't lie.............

Just a few days ago, while playing recreational badminton a friend of mine questioned me whether her hips looked big in the outfit she was wearing. A hesitant me tried to ward off that question as I didn't wanted to offend her. But, her question sprung up a serious question in my mind, a question about body image among us (girls). I won't boost and make false statements that I don't get insecure about my body. Sometimes, I too get the feeling and get insecure.                                                                                                                  Sure, Shakira is beautiful!! With this question in my mind I stumbled upon my answer. As a regular reader of newspaper and magazines, I know that there are certain body types (apple shape, pear shape, hourglass and so on). Now, this pear shape is the body shape in which the hips are wide as compared to the upper body and the cherry on the icing: most Indian women are pear shaped. Even I'm pear sha

Vacation's boredom and cherry tomatoes.....!!

Vacations are officially here and I can feel the boredom of it........duhh!! Don't you guys feel that this largely awaited thing among student community called "vacations" loses its charms when it falls upon us? Whole academic year we eagerly wait for vacations but these vacations becomes boring after a week or two,  this feeling of boredom have been creeping onto me too......yuks! Now I am looking forward when these vacations will come to an end.                                 Now, I don't know how to cure this boredom. But, I got some nice way to pass my time: helping my dad's tomato plants. Yeah! I know you might be thinking that I must have gone crazy because how can one help plants.......right? Actually, my dad's plants are harassed by birds (I know it sounds funny but they actually are), those birds damage our plant's stems, leaves, flowers, etc. So, I have started helping plants by shooing away those nasty birds. In the meanwhile, I also discover

Farewell to school......

Image
Ahhhhh!!...............EXAMS ARE OVER. I can't believe an academic year have gone like a breeze and in few months I will be in junior college (Woah!! for real). But I will surely miss school life. Few days ago we had our farewell, it was a bitter-sweet moment for all of us. Bitter because we will never be able to meet our school friends in our life ahead and even if we are able to the bond between us might not remain the same. Sweet because after bidding farewell to our school we will   step into the real world out of our cocoons, living a life of independence.                        But how quickly this 10yrs-school life have gone through have left me amazed and longing for more but, I am really excited attending college because college=freedom but on the downside, college=a tag of having become mature. When we are in school anyone calling us or treating like kids leaves us haggling with them but when we enter college we wish to return back to that period of feeling secure beca
